A call for experiments from companies and startups was officially launched in March 2017. This will be the opportunity to try out new practices accross the entire territory of Rennes. The first wave of experiments is already underway.

City Roul’, the public vehicle hire service in Rennes, has joined forced with Legendre Immobilier, a developer/builder and subsidiary of the Legendre Group and a major name in the construction industry in western France and the Île-de-France region, in order to provide residents in the Art de Vivre flats, in the La Courrouze district, with a vehicle fitted with car-sharing technology. The aim of this experimentation is to enable residents to reduce the extent to which they rely on their own cars and to promote the use of car-sharing vehicles.

The startup Itineroo has developed a digital eco-mobility application for elected officials in territorial communities. As part of the 2018 inOut event, the elected officials of Rennes Métropole are going to test out a dynamic carpooling solution. The application use the diaries of elected officials in order to organise and optimise their travel, with the aim of improving the community’s environmental footprint.
